Anti-fog coatings

The coating provides protection against fogging on glass surfaces while reducing uncontrolled water condensation. The hydrophilicity of the surface is demonstrated in video 1, which allows you to see how a drop of water completely spreads over the surface. Measuring the contact angle of 1-2 degrees is very problematic.

  The change in the contact angle with time is shown in Fig. 1, and the effect of the anti-fog coating is shown in video 2.

The coating сan be applied for  glass and plastic and it has quite long term stability during storage (at least 6 months – 1 year). The initially superhydrophilic surface over time stabilizes its properties at the level of 15-17 degrees, Fig. 2.1, which is significantly higher than the wettability of the original surface, Fig. 1.1 while maintaining anti-fog properties. During operation, as a rule, contamination of the gibrophilic surface occurs. Our anti-fog coating can be restored by rinsing the surface under running water with a detergent.
